God's To-Do List


I recently read this book and I loved it! It is one of the books you could read cover to cover in one sitting. Instead, I limited myself to only reading a few chapters each day. The chapters are short, just a few pages, but very inspiring. By pacing myself on this book, I was able to reflect and apply the message much more effectively.


Here are some of my favorite verses from the messages:

Ephesians 5:15-17 "Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is."


Hebrews 12:11 "For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of the righteousness to those who have been trained by it."


Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent of praiseworthy-think about such things."


James 3:16-17 "Where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gently, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy."


Proverbs 21:5 "The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty."


I could keep on listing them because they were all wonderful and so applicable to a life truly devoted to being a disciple. This book will help you focus your mind and your heart on being intentional. On giving your best self to God and your family and giving your heart peace and contentment. If you are having trouble focusing on what matters because of the clutter and distractions in this world, I encourage you to read this book. Take a few minutes and just read one chapter a day, even if it is before you get out of the bed. Let that chapter sink in for the day. Make a concerted effort to apply the writings and you will soon find those efforts to be new habits and those new habits will create a new you!
